The Lindenwood cycling team pulled a hat-trick with three wins in Wisconsin April 18-19. Sophomore Owen Belton took first in the Men's A criterium race, freshman Alex Bowden sprinted to victory in the Men's B road race, and freshman Zak Hafner won the Men's C road race.
As the 08-09 year comes to a close, it seems fitting to do a year-in-review column. Because of the colossal amount of success this university has had, this may be a daunting task. But here goes. Several highlights punctuated an extraordinary season.
The Lady Lions golf team won its 10th consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) championship Tuesday, Apr. 28, at the Indian Foothills Golf course in Marshal, Mo. The team shot well as a whole. The Lions shot a team total of 329, and their number three and four golfers shot seven strokes under their closest counterparts leading to a team score six shots under second place finisher Avila University.
After a phenomenal regular season of 16-2, Lindenwood's men's lacrosse team continued their success last weekend, May 2-3, winning two games to claim a fifth straight GRLC championship. "I think [we] expected to win the title. We took control of the game and ran with it," Head Coach Troy Hood said.
The Lindenwood men's and women's track and field teams dominated the 2009 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 1-2, as both squads won their respective conferences in the meet at Fayette, Mo. Head Coach Paul Wright was confident that his teams would perform well.
